Chamfond Loupes Were Successfully Used in a Double Lung Transplant Surgery.
“Chamfond loupes are light-weighted and with clear vision. It was really helpful in the operation.”
By Dr. Chen Jing-Yu, vice president of Wuxi People’s Hospital.
The double lung transplant surgery finally had been completed.
The receiver had been in danger of pulmonary fibrosis caused by GVHD after bone marrow transplant. We got the lungs donated by a female adult which match the chest size today. Waiting for a few months is not in vain, bless the child!
The donor lungs was from Tianjin, transported by plane from Tianjin to Shanghai Hongqiao, then transported by high-speed rail from Shanghai Hongqiao to Wuxi, 1200 km in total,. It was completed in 4 hours 20 minutes, our new record.
I operated the transplant with Chamfond 2.5X magnifying loupes which I had never used before. The loupe is light-weighed and with clear vision. It was really helpful in the operation. However, my operation was not fast enough because I was not used to wearing loupes. It was suggested by my friend that I should practice more at home and adapt to it as soon as possible. So that it will be more convenient to operate lung transplant for the children from 2-5 years old.
There are more than 100 cases of child lung transplant per year.
The child lung transplant has long way to go in China.
